SPOTLIGHT: April 2024 round of the IVC Evidensia Research Fund now open

With 23 research projects awarded funding in the October 2023 round of the IVC Evidensia Research Fund, we're delighted to announce that the April 2024 round is now open. Originating from five countries across the Group totalling over £130,000, the successful projects ranged from developing new, innovative surgical techniques to using AI to phenotype neurological conditions.

We've updated our application form to make it even easier to submit your idea, and you'll be pleased to know we've lifted the cap on funding levels for presenting at national or international conferences. You can now claim up to £1000 towards the cost of registration and attendance regardless of the type of conference you wish to attend.

If you have a research project you would like to discuss or need help with completing your application, email research@ivcevidensia.com. We look forward to supporting your research projects – submissions close Monday 1st April.

IVC Evidensia Netherlands awards first Local Community Grant Fund of 2024 to Stichting Mendoo

Our colleagues in the Netherlands are kicking off 2024 with fantastic news – their first Community Grant of the year has been awarded to Stichting Mendoo!

Stichting Mendoo is a charity that offers practical advice across the country for victims of domestic violence with pets, from temporarily housing pets with childminders to allowing both owners and their pets into shelters. Trainer at the Academy, Amaryl van Ravenhorst, explains why they chose to help the foundation: “As we operate across the Netherlands, we wanted to support an organisation that had a national reach and a target group that was meaningful for us all.

“Mendoo does an amazing job supporting victims of domestic violence and their pets. These donations will enable them to help even more victims and their pets.”

A massive congratulations to our team in the Netherlands – if you’re looking to make a difference in your local area, visit the Community Grants Fund page on the IVC Evidensia website or head to the Community Grants section on the Group intranet now.

IVC Evidensia France clinics achieve Cat Friendly Clinic status

We’re delighted to announce that 52 clinics across our network in France have received the ‘Cat Friendly Clinic’ label.

Issued by the International Society of Feline Medicine, it recognises veterinary clinics that have adapted their premises, equipment and approaches to cats, to provide the best possible care in the best conditions.

Well done and thank you to Marine Quent and Leila Touhami for all your hard work in supporting our clinics in adapting cat-friendly approaches and furthering the wellbeing of our feline patients – your support is ‘purr-fection’!

IVC Evidensia Spain shares vital health information with the profession

Last month, Raquel Santiago, Head of Internal Medicine at Hospital Veterinario Molins, took part in the 11th Annual Internal Medicine Congress (XI Congreso de Medicina Interna de Avepa) in Alicante, Spain.

Raquel discussed how to diagnose peripheral lymphadenopathy (swollen lymph nodes) in dogs and cats, which is a common reason why people take their pets to the vet.

Raquel talked about how, as this can indicate various other underlying health issues, including potentially life-threatening diseases such as Leishmaniasis in areas where it is prevalent, it's important to consider what peripheral lymphadenopathy could be indicating during diagnosis and treatment.

Thanks to Raquel for her continued dedication to sharing vital knowledge which could benefit vets across the whole of our profession.

People Promise - To be a great place to work

Help celebrate our amazing women and #InspireInclusion

We’re celebrating the brilliant women at IVC Evidensia with International Women’s Day this 8th March, with this year’s theme asking people to Inspire Inclusion.

We’re proud of our entire team, but in honour of this special day, we want to showcase our incredible female colleagues. And to do this, we have received nominations from across the Group of colleagues who inspire and go the extra mile.

All submissions are being reviewed and we will aim to share as many as we can on the IVC Evidensia Linkedin page throughout March.
