Dr. Maxime Cambournac, anaesthesia and critical care specialist at Centre Hospitalier Vétérinaire Frégis, has been awarded Best Poster at this year’s EVECC Congress, Europe’s leading event for veterinary emergency and critical care.

The poster (pictured) showcases a groundbreaking surgical innovation; the use of a veno-venous liver bypass to support the removal of a massive liver tumour. Using a dialysis machine to reroute blood flow, Camille Bismuth and team, were able to isolate liver circulation during surgery, allowing them to operate with minimal blood loss and maintain the patient’s hemodynamic stability. To our knowledge, this is the first documented clinical use of this technique in veterinary medicine
A huge congratulations to Maxime, Camille, and the team at Frégis. this is a fantastic reflection of the cutting-edge clinical expertise across our international network.
