Today IVC Evidensia announces that Simon Smith, currently Group MD and Acting CEO, has been promoted to take up the role of CEO permanently.
Simon replaces Steve Clarke, who has been on compassionate leave over the last few months. Steve has now made the difficult decision to step down from the CEO role to fully focus on his family during an ongoing challenging period. He leaves the business with heartfelt thanks for all he has done, and with our thoughts and best wishes for the future.
As Acting CEO, Simon has been covering all CEO duties and responsibilities for some time and has done a great job in helping the business continue to grow, reflective of both his capabilities and his extensive experience, including his previous group CEO role.
Simon permanently takes up the role, and joins our Board, from today.
Simon said: ‘I’m excited to be taking up the CEO role permanently. IVC Evidensia is a fantastic global business with great people and terrific prospects, and I’m honoured to be working with such a talented team, whether they are looking after the animals in our care or supporting, directly or indirectly, those that do.’
Steve Clarke said: ‘It was a very difficult decision to make, and while I’m sad to be leaving the IVC Evidensia business, I’m immensely proud of what has been achieved, and I know the momentum we’ve built up will continue. I’d also like to express my thanks to everyone across the business for the amazing work they continue to do each and every day.’
Kate Swann, Chair, IVC Evidensia said: ‘While we’re sad to see Steve leave the business, we fully respect his decision to focus on his family, and wish him all the best for the future. We’re delighted that Simon has agreed to take up the CEO role permanently. As Simon has already been fulfilling the role, we expect a seamless transition as we continue to focus on delivering our strategy and our purpose of healthy animals, happy owners, and working together to make IVC Evidensia the best vet company in the world.’
