Mirja qualified from the University of Helsinki, Finland in 1994. Thereafter she has worked in small animal practice with a special interest in dermatology. She founded her own practice in 2006, and became a National Specialist in Small Animal Diseases the same year. After joining first Animagi chain 2012 and later IVC Evidensia 2014, Mirja has worked in various positions: Chief Veterinarian 2012-2016, Medical Expert 16-17, Country Medical Director 17-19, Clinical Director for Tammisto referral hospital 18-19 and member of the Clinical Board since 2016.
Currently Mirja is working as a Veterinary Medical Expert for Evidensia Finland; spending 50% of her time in referral practice, 50% in running projects concerning veterinary medical development and quality, as well as coordinating the work of Clinical Board Finland. She continues to represent Finland on the Group Veterinary Medical Board and IVC Evidensia´s referral strategy group.
